| In 2006 my daughter Molly (in elementary school) urged me to develop my water.info domain name into a web site. At first I thought it was too daunting a task: water is a vast topic. However, I became more aware of the plight of millions of children (and their parents) who do not have access to clean water. I tried to imagine what it would feel like if my parched children asked me for a drink of water and I could not supply it. I had to do something to help. I am not the best of web designers, but I do know how to organize data. For example, I designed and built the weapons importation tracking system for the US government completely by myself. Surely, I could use that skill to organize some data about water. Was there a need not covered? In my research, I could not find a comprehensive guide to water technologies, existing and in development, which could be used in different parts of the world, especially by nonprofit organizations. And so, I found the focus for water.info. In July of 2007, I published the first few pages of this site. By the end of 2008, I plan to publish substantially more. I invite anyone aware of technology that would be appropriate for this web site to contact me. I also invite suggestions for improving this site. Finally, I welcome potential sponsors. Send me an email. Sincerely, Michael Prolman Publisher Copyright © 2007, 2008 Sapphire Press. All rights reserved. |
